How do companies like the WBC/WBA get their rankings for boxers?

I mean how could the WBC quite possibly have Deontay Wilder as the number 1, next in line to fight for Stivernes belt?

I just for life of me don't understand how you can face tune up after tune up and all of a sudden be the mandatory for Stiverne... Just absolutely stupid.

It sickening but probably true, WBC seem like one of the worst of the lot.

It's just a shame for Stiverne he goes in the hard route and proves himself fighting live opponents to then have to face a freak show like Wilder.

People laugh at Gary Russell, Lomachenko and Wilder getting title shots but there opponent selection was strategic. They picked ranked fighters on the list to get ranked by the organizations. One you are ranked you can get approved for a title shot because the belt holder can defend against anyone who is on the list.

Of course some fighters get favorable treatment but what i said still applies to other fighters with lesser name value as well.

It definitely must have something to do with money aswell the promoters are definitely funding Wilder up but I'd go as far as saying Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are at the same stages of their career and his last win against Hector Avila is probably better than any of Wilders wins as harsh as that sounds.
