  • Who began this trend of switching networks to avoid fighters?

I am trying to trace this trend back to its origin.

it's easy to blame floyd but he actually had legitimate reasons to switch to showtime...fact of the matter is ever since showtime decided to exclusively deal with haymon and gbp and hbo cutting ties with them did the opportunity present itself for fighters to duck other fighters by switching networks

Iron Mike switched over to Showtime and was one of the reasons why the Lewis fight couldn't me made for years but then the two networks worked through their differences, as did Arum and King...and you know why? Because the two fighters wanted the fight.

Right now, we have one man, a certain lil ***** boy who doesn't want to fight and isn't letting his team and his promoter do their job.

Yea thats a bit too much. Leaving a network to avoid a fighter. I can see Floyd doing it though because he wants to retire undefeated.
