Hagler vs. the 154 pound prime Mc Callum would have been a very interesting fight. Mike was ducked by everyone, i don't think Hagler actually ducked him, but I believe Hearns and Leonard did. Would have been a great chess match. Would have also loved to see Hagler hunt down the 154 pound version of Benitez , who had sparked out Maurice Hope.

cool, thanks Isaac. I know Hagler would have beaten Benitez, but it would have been two different styles.

Hagler did not duck McCallum. By time Hagler was retired McCallum was still unknown. McCallum may have wanted a payday but so did Buster Drayton and Duane Thomas, the other light middleweight champions that shared the title with McCallum.
Benitez would have loved to fight Hagler too and might of if he didn't get beat by Hamsho.Last edited by TBear; 03-21-2014, 04:53 PM.

Spinks was a big light heavy, kind of like michael moorer was. Hagler would have been better off staying away from spinks. Hagler weighed 157 a lot of times in his middleweight defenses. I think hagler could have made 154 if he tried. The fights with mccallum , benitez, and a young upcoming curry would have been good for marvin. Marvin wrecks benitez and destroys curry. Mccallum would have been a live under dog. Depends on when he fought mArvin.

Hagler walks thru Benitez
But mccallum would possibly beat hagler.. Especially if it was the post 85 version of hagler..
