Because of Khan's unique abilities, flair and the excitement within virtually every single one of his fights, because of his super star status on a global level.. out of the current crop of modern day top tier fighters, will Khan be remembered above and beyond nearly everyone else apart from the rest of the absolute elite in and around his weight division (e.g. Mayweather and Pacquiao)?
Is Khan destined to be one of those fighters which, in years to come, will be a key part of the conversation from this particular generation of boxers?
For example, think of the Ali era - there are a few other boxers mentioned alongside Ali - Frazier, Foreman, Spinks, Liston etc.. Even if Khan doesn't beat the elite fighters in his division, he will no doubt be mentioned before most of the other fighters at 140, 147, 154.. before Matthysse, Garcia, Canelo, Peterson, Maidana, Alexander, Bradley.. etc.. Khan will no doubt be remembered and rejoiced above and beyond all of them.
