  • Communities Are Standing Up To Cartels In Mexico

In many rural areas of Mexico, communities are frustrated and fed up with the lack of protection, service and response from local and national government in regards to the out of control violence and terror from drug cartels. They've started their own "community police" as they have lost total faith and trust in the judicial system. Through out these areas, many community police have been successful in kicking out cartel presence.

In this video, community police in Michoacan battle members of the Knights Templar Cartel (yes, real name). 15 cartel members were killed with 0 casualties on the CP side.

This is a great development for the people of Mexico.

Congratulations to the people of Mexico, btw, for winning the championship of FIBA AMERICAS.

Actually this is nothing new. It's been going on for a while and it's sad because they are fighting a war they cannot win. The real problem is corruption, they can't trust anyone and someone you think is with you will sell you out for money.

As I understand it firearms are illegal to possess in Mexico so they are breaking the law by even defending themselves in that video. But good for them, it's about time that they stood up and fought back.

The government isn't going to help them so if they don't want to be at the mercy of the cartels then they have to take matters into their own hands.

a lot of these community militias are being bankrolled by drug cartels hoping to make things harder for their rival drug lord competition.

In the end, the real problem are corrupt politicians, police, and military who make millions off of bribe money from the cartels including U.S. politicians.

......you need to take two things into account.

1.The death tolls are ALWAYS fake
2.The community police is sponsored and working with the CT Cartel's rivals The Jalisco NG Cartel.

They're always reporting that the CT cartel is taking a beating with little to no deaths on the Community police or Federal police side. Which isn't true infact the causality numbers could be in the hundreds they didn't even report on the chopper the CT Cartel shot down a month ago. Also the Jalisco NG Cartel is supplying the Community Police with assault rifles, training and men. They have an interest in Michoacan because of their cultivation potential.

It sounds romantic the citizens rising up against an oppressive cartel, but the situation isn't black and white. The reality is more complicated. Im sure most of the Community Police is comprised of peasants and citizens that are fed up with the CT cartel but not all of them and I don't think most realize they're doing the Jalisco NG Cartels bidding.
