  • is david haye at the peak of his career or nearing the end of his career?

    we all know david only wanted to comeback for a klitschko but does he really have the time and desire to earn a shot the right way. let's say he's gotta fight 3 guys before he get's a title shot.........did it look like haye had improved when he fought chisora or did it look like he was a fading fighter? could he beat a povetkin/pulev or even an adamek on that performance

    let me know guys.

    At the peak looking down probably (in terms of generic on paper / age assumptions)

        Beating Fury after beating Chisora last year is good enough for another shot, old man Thompson got 2 shots doing nothing.

          Hard to say right now. I think the Chisora fight was a career best performance at heavyweight and that Haye would beat Povetkin/Pulev/Adamek in the same fashion.

          Looking forward to the Fury fight, but it's not an indication of how well Haye could do against Wlad/Vitali.

            ^ this.

            But I always felt that the problem with haye is his lack of determination and activity. He could have been much better than he is now. He doesn't really appear hungry to me anymore.

              Hasn't fought too often and taken much damage so that can only be good for his longevity but that brings about rustiness. I think he's in his prime or at the tail-end, I didn't see him slip at all in his last fight. This fight is basically can Haye land that bomb or is Fury going to be able to get away with jabbing, holding and just making it ugly for Haye. Haye does not throw enough due to his style/stamina issues, so maybe Fury is going to be fighting accordingly.

                I think chisora was probably him at his best so far. The haye that beat chisora beats the vitali that beat chisora imo. Given that he is a fighter that relies so heavily on his reactions i'd say he won't have much longer at the current level.
