Arturo Gatti Death: Press Conference on August 30 in North Bergen to Announce Findings of 10 Month Investigation

NORTH BERGEN N.J. (August 8, 2011) — A press conference will be held on Tuesday, August 30 to release the voluminous findings of a ten-month investigation into the death of boxing legend Arturo Gatti. The press conference will take place at Global Boxing Gym in North Bergen, beginning at 11 A.M.

Internationally renowned private investigators Paul Ciolino of Chicago and Joseph Moura of Boston have been hired by Gatti’s manager Pat Lynch to investigate Gatti’s death.

The three-time world champion Gatti was found dead in his rented vacation apartment in Brazil on July 11, 2009 at the age of 37. Brazilian police arrested Gatti’s wife Amanda Rodrigues, only to release her three weeks later. The Brazilian authorities have ruled Gatti’s death a suicide.

A number of medical and scientific expert witnesses from across the country will also make brief presentations which will conclusively lay to rest the mystery surrounding Gatti’s cause of death

Gatti was raised in Montreal, Canada but made his home in Jersey City, NJ, winning world championships in the junior lightweight and super lightweight divisions. Known as “Thunder” and “The Human Highlight Reel,” Gatti engaged in four Fight of the Year battles. His final record was 40-9 (31 KO).
