  • Insulin response

I might be wrong (usually am ), but I read somewhere that eating refined carbohydrates triggers the body's insulin response to effectively store fat. If this is the case, does the 100 calories from say a biscuit (cookie) do more harm in terms of fat storage response than the inherent 100 calories? Reason I ask is I'm trying to lose fat but have a sweet tooth

    Lol

Yeah thats right. After consuming simple carbs, the insulin force-feeds the extra sugar into the muscles, which then slows down your fat burning capacity and actually does promote fat storage. Just in case you feel like reading more on insulin: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/matt55.htm

Cheers tebe, that does make sense. I'm still wondering just how bad one biscuit would be in the scheme of things. Man, I love biscuits!

I know most diets usually consist of being good for 6 days and then one day a week you get a small cheat. That's what I do, but then again I don't really have much of a sweet tooth.

I usually work on 4 hours of being good and then a small treat!
