  • Roy Jones should be favored against anyone from 160-175

I've heard this claim many times and I disagree with it, thoughts on this claim and who do you give a chance/favor over him?

If not favored, at least even against anyone in those weight classes, I'd say.

I favor RJJR over anyone... to be honest. My take is people hated him for being so cocky. He's really the most skilled fighter ever in boxing. I mean he never.... got hit in his prime. he had both boxing and nutral ability at the highest level in can possibly be. Its not his fault he made it look easy....well it is cause he was soo... good. I mean did tarver make easy work of clinton woods? not as easy as RJJR did. What about james toney? All of his oppnents? who made it look that easy? GOAT!!

No way, his chin is too much of a liability.

He has a good chance against many fighters but, I'd take: Hagler, Ray Robinson, Sam Langford and possibly Thomas Hearns at MW.

His chin was really only a problem after he came back down from heavyweight. I can't think of too many instances where he got rocked prior to the Ruiz fight.

I think he would be favored with everyone at 168. But at 175 michael spinks, ezzard charles and bob foster put roy to sleep.

I'd pick Spinks over him at 175 and possibly Archie Moore and Charles.

I'm 100% confident he'd beat anybody at 160. Nobody comes close enough in speed to touch his chin.

His chin only deteriorated after the Ruiz fight due to the weight loss/gain and resulting effect on his ion balance which is what makes a good chin.

he was dropped pretty solidly by Del Valle.
I think in general he had trouble with crafty southpaws, Harding actually gave him a pretty rough time. Montell Griffin also was frustrating him before the DQ KO.

its hard to imagine him losing at SMW, but I think he could have lost to a few fighters at MW and LHW.

I think it's a claim so absurd, it barely warrants entertaining.
