  • So Who Did Better? Cotto or Margs?

Margs got beat the hell up.... but he didn't get knocked down. Cotto did twice. Margs didn't get stopped & he holds the distinction of hitting Manny more times than any other opponent has in a single round. He kept coming forward despite the beating, but in the end, who would you rather have been at the end of the fight?

Cotto was unable to deal with Pacs punches but he looked better early in the fight then Margs did at any point. I would say Margs because he was durable and could stand up to the punishment better then Cotto and because of that he pushed Manny more.

And paid a hefty price in doing so. Margs got battered tonight; despite not being KO'd, I think he took more punishment tonight than he did vs Mosley.

the only reason cotto made it to the 12th round is because he was running non stop since round 8-9. Margarito had a 18 lb weight advantage so he could take Pac's punches better, Had this fight been at 147 Margarito would've been stopped around the 8-9

Margs looked Chinese by the end of the fight.

He took the kind of beating that ends fighter's careers.

I was smh at Marg's corner for letting Mexican pride get in the way of stopping the fight.

Pac could have killed him in the 12th if he wanted to.

Most of the first 5 rounds were Cotto's if it weren't for the KD's..he actually had some success.
Pacquiao showed more mercy with Margarito..he kept looking at the ref to stop it..and that entire 12th round..he carried him..

And finally..Cotto might have only outweighed Pacquiao by 5-7lbs..so it's a lot easier to rock a guy like that over a guy that's almost got 20lbs on you..

I think Cotto looked better against Pacquiao even tho he got TKO'd..

That's like saying Clottey looked better than both of them because he tagged Pac a few times and was never hurt or on the verge of being stopped..LMAO!

Co-signed, i think of the same, the weight advantage gave the ability to tank all the punches.

Marg took a true Welter/Light Middleweights punches in Shane Mosley all night.

Marg fought Pacman better than Cotto imo, he found success when he cornered Pacman.

Despite having huge size advantages that Cotto didn't have, Margarito was outclassed in every round and no round was even that close. Cotto on the other hand won rounds and was highly competitive for the first half of the fight. I don't think it's any question that Cotto did better but it isn't like it matter anyways, both fighters got their doors blown off in the end.
