NWO: Soto At LW

So now Valero is up to JWW and Soto has his old belt. If Valero wins and I think he will, he'll stay up there. Too bad because I really wanted to see that fight. But there's still good fights there for Soto if they actually happen. I was excited to see him move up if he wasn't gonna fight Guerrero at 130. That's another one that coulda been good.

He didn't look so hot vs Diaz. That clearly wasn't because Diaz did anything to make him look bad though. Chalk it up to him just not being the same at LW or simply having an off night/not being up for the fight. I lean towards him just being kinda flat against a guy who didn't bring it.

Soto's fighting Petersen in May. Definitely a fight he can lose. If not:

Guzman-Funeka 2 winner, I got Funeka
JMM since he's pretty much confirmed 140 is out, he's still the champ
Juan Diaz is probably going back to LW to restore himself
Katsidis-Mitchell winner, I'm picking Katsidis

How does NWO see Soto as a LW; same, better, worse than at 130?
How you see him doing vs Petersen?
How do you think he'd do hypothetically vs any of these guys?

Soto won't do as well at LW. He's fighting bigger guys with more power and better chins. He won't have the same speed and workrate he showed at 130 either.

As for the fights:
Petersen beats Soto by UD
Soto can beat Guzman in a rematch as Guzman is faded now
Funeka beats Soto
JMM beats Soto
Soto beats Juan
Katsidis is a 50-50 fight
Soto would beat Mitchell

Soto looked flat and slower at LW, he is a natural 130lber and could maybe beat Juan Diaz but never Guzman if they fought again, or Funeka, or JMM.

I think Valero is going to get tooled by Peterson, until I see otherwise Valero I am going to say is being vastly overrated......if he beats Peterson I will retract that statement though.

Soto will be fine at LW. He looked big as a SFW, so I think he'll actually have a lil more stamina at 135. I was disappointed in the Diaz fight tho, thought it'd be a lot better than it turned out to be.

I'd pick Funeka over him. For all his bad fortunes, dude is lookin like a beast at LW.

I think Diaz is fallin to journeyman status. Anotha guy who a question mark right now. The Diaz of a couple yrs ago works Soto. Not sure now.

I'm going to agree with this and Clyde that Soto beats Guzman in a rematch. I think peterson definitely beats soto though. Soto has some mileage on his for sure.
