  • looking back to 2002 hopkins was nuts to ask 50-50 with roy.....

after the 60-40 i whoop yo ass interview hopkins fought hakkar in his hometown and barley made noise......jones fought clinton woods in oregon of all boxing stadiums and the crowd went crazy when he did his chicken dance....thats my favorite roy fight.....

roy never sold alot of ppv one time it was posted on here and it was never 500k until tarver came along....the fight with ruiz only did 300k....but hopkins only ppv i believe was against trinidad....reason jones didnt sell millions because he was fighting people the fans thought had no chance.....if he fought hopkins he wouldve broke 500k easily but it would be more people tuning into see if roy would lose......it shouldve been 55-45 roy......looking back hopkins pulled a pacquiao and made a bonehead business move.....

would you tell numbnuts like natas6040 this please...they seem to think hopkins is the greatest thing since sliced bread with all of those weak middleweights and blown up big name welters on his resume after trinidad, when he should have rematched jones at any cost...especially after jones said the "60-40" remark...that should have been his call to arms...

I thought it was ridiculous for Hopkins to want 50-50 as well, I thought the 60-40 offer was a great offer from Jones but for some reason B-hop thought he deserve more which i think was crazy.

Jones did in the area of 600,000 buys for the Ruiz fight.

Bhop wanted nothing to do with Roy at that time, and priced himself out.
Roy was p4p number 1 and Hop was a middleweight champ who turned down the biggest payday of his career to not fight RJJ again.
