  • Is it helpfull for a boxer to never drink?

    I was just wondering this.

Would a boxer benefit more if he never drank in his life?

Right now im going to a boxing gym for the first time and im 21, trying to go down in weight....hopefully to 200. Ive never drank alcohol in my life and plan on never doing it. Would it be beneficial in any way if a boxer never ever drinks? and if so in what way??

    Thanks Boxingscene

a few nice cold dark beers at a heavyweight 175-Heavyweight whould be fine. Even during training ,Floyd Mayweather dosent drink there is substance abuse problems in his family. I think during his layoff he did drink.

Michael Jordan used to smoke cigars and drink Red wine with a big steak before his games sometimes.

Also used to shoot craps and bang whores but he whould lift heavy ass weights with Pippen in the Moring 3-4 times a week. Then he would go to pratice.

well the cigar thing wouldnt be bad, cuz your not suppose to inhale cigar smoke so most likely he never did. but for the red wine that stuff is actually healthy for you in small doses
