  • Vicious Victor Ortiz - will he become a champion???

i have just watched his last fight with maidana - who is a really good puncher but is pretty limited in techinque (no hate just what i think) he has good speed but nothing flash

ortiz fought the total wrong fight for this guy (which he admit post fight interview)

i dont think ortiz has a bad chin he got hit with some pretty flush shots but maybe is drive and toughiness is questionable!!!

i still like the guys skills, he has huge knock out power (i think maidana had only been floored once before the ortiz fight) in both hands and has really good hand speed and laterall movement and foot work!!

but i still think he needs to work on conditioning and stamina the most because thats what has let him down

does anyone know who he is fighting next??? and where would you go now

    options at 140???

tim bradley (but he is fighting in nov or dec)
amir khan (fighting satlia or someone next, but he would duck ortiz for sure)
rematch with maidana (could happen would sell well i suppose)

i think he will become champion but i do think there are question marks with is commitment which is a shame because he could of became a really good fighter!!

I think he has the skills to do it but does he have the will and the heart? Time will tell.

He has a bad chin. He has been rocked before. He been dropped in sparring also. There was always questions about his chin and heart. And, that is why I was never high on him.

Could he win a title? Yea there is so many titles out there. That of course he could possibly win a title. Coutd he ever be the win a linear title? I say no.

IMO he should fight Steve Forbes next. And, then maybe Paul Malinnaggi. And, then probably try to challenge Amir Khan. He should stay away from Urango and Maidana.

He should stay away from Khan as well. Khan would box his ears off!

some of the shots he took in the maidana fight were flush from a very respected power puncher!! so i would not go too crazy on saying he does have a bad chin i just think its is will and heart that are questionable

also i think if he goes in with khan he knocks khan out cold!!!! style match up is all wrong with amir who to be fair does seem to have a more solid chin at 140

I think so. It's just I think Ortiz was exposed as a guy who can be takin out of a fight pretty quick. It doesn't look like he really has the skill set to adjust mid-fight when he's facing problems at this point of his career. He can get better though, cause I mean the kid has RAW talent. He's quick and can bang.

I know Ortiz quit and all, but the guy fought dumb as hell against Maidana.

Ortiz was clearly the better boxer with more skills, he went with his "**** it, I will KTFO this guy at his own game" and paying for it. Same thing that Happend to Juanma.

In rematch a see Ortiz outboxing the **** out of Maidana, easy!!!!!!!

He has the skills to at least pick up a strap, but only time will tell if he has the heart and desire to be great.

I love how you say Khan would duck Ortiz. At this point Salita has much more credibility that that quitter Ortiz.

                  Khan >> Kotelnik >> Maidana >> Ortiz
