  • Pacquiao shares thoughts on Cotto bout

MANILA – The world’s best pound-for-pound fighter made known his prediction on his upcoming bout against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas.

Manny Pacquiao said in his Sept. 13 “Kumbinasyon” column that the winner after the “Firepower” clash will not be Cotto nor himself, but the sport of boxing.

Tiyak iyon,” he said in the article posted on PhilBoxing.com.

According to Pacquiao, it is not in his and Cotto’s nature to be boastful. They also do not say bad things about each other.

Because of their similarities in conduct, Pacquiao believes his fight against the WBO welterweight champion will not just be a battle at that.

    Puerto Rico stop

Pacquiao and Cotto are in the middle of their media tour for their Nov. 14 match, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

They came from New York and Puerto Rico and are set to bring their promo tour to California cities San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.

While in Puerto Rico, Pacquiao and Cotto addressed the crowd.

“I understand that you support Cotto, but no matter who wins, we’re going to have a good fight and do the best we can,” said Pacquiao as quoted by FightHype.com’s Ben Thompson.

Cotto, for his part, told his hometown mates in Caguas: “Puerto Rico has been having great moments in sports the past weeks… I assure you, the party will continue because after November 14, I will return as champion.”

For “the People’s Champ,” Cotto is not as tall as he appeared to be.

    Jogging in NYC

Pacquiao, meantime, related to his readers that he jogged for two straight days in New York City’s Central Park.

He also mentioned that he ran for more than an hour. Pacquiao considered such run as one of the longest jogging sessions he ever had in training since he started fighting.

He even wrote that his jogging session in Central Park was prolonged because his cell phone fell, causing him to go back and look for it. He said he was fortunate to have found his mobile phone. – With a report from The Philippine Star
