Roy dominated someone that Calzaghe had already destroyed. At least Joe put Lacy on the canvas...

Roy was a name for a payday and for JC's personal satisfaction. The win didn't add anything to his legacy because Roy is well past his prime...not quite as far along as the weight-added, post-injury, post-Calzaghe "Left Hook", but still not a serious threat for the Top 10 guys at LHW or CW

Lol,use your brain man,he beat Lacy easier than Joe did.

And no,it didn't prove Roy isn't finished. It proved than an old shot ATG can still beat a decent punching bag.

Ehhh...I think it was Joe's style was a bad match for Roy. Lacy barely did anything, he was a human punching bag. Now, though Roy looked good, I still don't see him even beating Chad Dawson.

A little, but nothing significant. If Joe C beat Roy around the time Roy beat Glen Kelly, than Joe C would be among the 50 ATG p4p.

Look at it this way, If roy goes on to beat Hopkins, Dawson, the winner of the Super 6 and Adamek, Joe would still not get credit.

The reason is, Joe must be treated as a great fighter, but he does not have a great win, it does not matter what Roy does, he wont be the Roy that was the fighter of the 90s Mr Untouchable.

Look at it this way, if Arreola KOs vitali, but Vitali comes back and beats Wlad, its still not a great win for Arreola. Why? because vitali is 40years old and is a shell compared to his prime when he beat Lennox's ass ring post to ring post.

                  LOL

I have to jump in again

You're contradicting yourself if you're going to give credit to Vitali for how he fought against an unmotivated, fat Lewis but not to Calzaghe for getting a real win over Roy, who was capable of continuing to beat second-tier fighters after losing 11 rounds to JC...

Joe Calslappy at the point in Roy's carreer in which they fought was a very bad match up for Jones. He is a south paw that has a high volume of punches. The huge bleed over his left eye did not help the issue much either but iehter did those hard right hands that Joe was digging to Roy's body under Jones high guard. At th etime when these two fought Calslappy was at the highest peak of his carrer here in the US. Jones has always been a draw. Shot or not he still can get a crowd and coming off a few wins the fight made cents ($$$). Jones in his hay day might have still had problems with Calslappy but I think he would have been able to KO him. Jones never had a veryu high punch output but the fact he was very elusive and would counter you with lightening fast hooks and straight riaght hands also caused opponenets to keep from letting their hands go. Also got them out of position lots of times from reaching with there punches at a target that was no longer there.

I think the poster whom I replied too has a very bad analogy and should check himself. It Arreola beat up on Vitali you say it does nothing for him? He would be beating the #2 HW in the world. the fighter whom many regard as the best HW or the toughest even over little bro Wlad. If Arreola beat Vitali he need get credit for that win. To me no one should get credit for beating up on Holyfield or James Toney. But to beat up on Vitali who scored wins against Sam Peter whom many regarded as top tier before his two recent losses. This tells me he still has something left. Holyfield or Toney those are two washed up shot fighters who need to retire and to me no young fighter like Arreola should even go near in the ring....Lefty
