Hitman opens up
Ricky rubbishes the rumours and reveals a whole lot more...
"I peaked too early for the Manny fight,
I knew walking to the ring, i was in trouble.
Last days Sparring sessions where terrible,
I wasnt Ricky Hatton...."
Ricky Hatton has broken his silence in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News.
In his first real feature-length TV appearance since his stunning defeat at the hands of Manny Pacquiao, the Hitman spoke out on all manner of things.
From his health, to his hopes for the future, his thoughts on Amir Khan and of course, what went wrong in the Pac Man fight, Britain's favourite boxer was as honest as usual.
Hatton pulled no punches as he revealed the real truth behind matters in and out of the ring, on the following:
ON HIS HEALTH - How food poisoning put him in hospital and how the heart murmur we've read so much about is nothing new.
ON HIS FUTURE - How he is not ruling out a comeback, but admits that resting up is all that's on his mind.
ON HIS LAST DEFEAT - How he 'overcooked' himself ahead of the Pacquiao fight and how training turned sour in the crucial, final few days.
ON AMIR KHAN - How he admits that fighting his close friend might well be an option some way down the line, if Khan is still a world champion.
ON FRANK WARREN - How his hospital stay was not 'self-inflicted' as his old promoter suggested and how he would not fight Khan on a Warren promotion.
ON A POSSIBLE COMEBACK - How he might get 'itchy feet' and give it another go...
