  • vic has ibo shot

vic darchinyan is fighting for the vacant IBO superflyweight title on Sat 20th October in Sydney against Federico Catubay (20 wins 11kos with 13 losses (stopped 7 times) and 3 draws

looks like he's taken a considerable step down in opposition.still a title.. even a paper one should help in the long run. will be good for some aussies to get to see him fight.

ill be expecting a full report if you do

you'd definitely want a good undercard.. dont know how long the main event will last.. this guy has already been stopped a few times..

Where is it? Will it be on US TV? Doubt it. This will last about 2 rounds at best. This is a real drop down in quality of opponents for Vic. I don't understand why he'd even bother paying the IBO fee.

Hopefully he's a guinea pig to test out some new defensive skills, because if he doesn't find some he's always going to run the risk of getting floored too easily again.

woftam, i remember before the KO everyone had vic's chin classified as pure granite.. how would u rate it now? i mean that was a great shot so i dont know if it's a liability but he's obviously not as invincible as most of us thought.

I don't know mate - all his opponents were scared of him before, but I think they will give themselves a bigger chance now. It's not his chin I'm concerned about, it's the fact he seems to show no capabilities defensively.

Vic's fighting at the Auburn RSL. Great, no doubt the showtime crew will be there.
