They had this wierd documentary on the guy last night here.
Some journalist followed him around for 8 months.
I wasn't watching it (except when I went for coffee) but I could hear the interview with him most of the evening.
It covered things like being followed around for months on end, talking to the kids that stayed over in Neverland and in his bedroom, his kids, his plastic surgery, that infamous incident in '93.
As I was watching it, I started to formulate my own opinion. I never really gave it much thought until I heard the doco.
I mean here is a guy, richer than God, and definately earned the name wacko jacko - with all the money to accomodate his wacky indulgences to boot. But they don't cover a lot of the things he does for charity and ****. He doesn't do it for recognition he does it for the kids and just to get some self satisfaction out of helping people.
Despite some wackiness (which everyone has really) he seems to me, geniune in his desire to want to help people and have fun with kids (in a non-sexual way I mean). Like when they interviewed the kids that stayed over it was like "man, I sleep in the bed and michael sleeps on the floor!" Like, the reporter was obviously paranoid on this aspect and really wanted to grill Michael on this point, but all the interviews really seemed to indicate to me was that it really was innocent fun.
I started to think back to that '93 incident -
do you really think Michael mollested that kid?
I really don't think so. I think he's wacky sure, but I think he's honestly got a good streak a mile long and would never do anything to hurt a kid and it wouldn't suprise me if they just exorted money out of Jacko coz they could.
I mean sure, I'm not saying he didn't do anything (maybe he did? who knows). I'm just saying based on what I heard last night, it didn't seem to fit his profile you know?
