  • I could be wrong about this, but I'm like 90% certain that Skills Challenge have been elbowed aside by Turki and the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, aka, the Saudi government.

What's interesting about this show is that it will be stacked with PBC fighters but it looks like Eddie...

  • Yes, I'm still denying it, just like your Uncle Frank did when he was asked if he was the lead promoter.

Let it drop mate, I'm feeling embarrassed for you now....

Why are you scouring this forum like an obsessed lunatic searching for old articles mistakenly naming Warren as the lead promoter and mentioning me in them?...

I never said Hearn was the lead promoter, you lying twat. I said all along that the de facto lead promoter was Turki, but officially, it was a Warren/Hearn co-promotion, which turned out to be correct.

A lot of people, including some of the dumb hacks who write for this site, jumped to...

  • "Do you think a sub 200 HW can be ranked by the four major bodies without ever weighing about 200?"

If he never weighed more than 200 he would automatically be ranked at CW, rather than HW. But there would be no reason for him not to be ranked at HW, if he announced he was moving...

  • Yep, the WBO ratings have HW as over 201, the WBO rules and regs have HW as over 200. I assume the former is a typo....

  • It says this at the WBO website:

"Heavyweight Over 200 lbs or 90.72 kgs"

  • I was talking about this. You have the WBO upper CW limit as 201, not 200....

  • Ok, so I checked the websites of all the world sanctioning organisations and they define HW as follows:

    WBO: Over 200lbs
    IBF: Over 200lbs
    WBA: Over 224lbs.
    WBC: Minimum of 224lbs

I think we can safely assume that defining HW by the upper weight limit...

  • I was puzzled by you listing the WBO CW limit as 201, not 200, so I checked their website. WBO CW upper weight limit is 200lb, same as the the orgs.

As I said in another comment, defining HW by the upper limit of the division below does not mean that HW has an actual lower limit written...

  • Only if you were fighting for a HW title. In which case, by definition, it would be a HW fight.

In theory, there is nothing to stop 2 160lb guys fighting for a HW title.

In reality though, it's about as likely as Deontay Wilder signing with Matchroom and being nominated by...

  • HW doesn't start at 200, CW ends at 200. There is nothing in the rules of boxing to stop two guys weighing less than 200llb fighting for a HW title. And if they fought for a HW title, then by definition, they would be fighting at HW....

  • I just checked Babic's record and he only weighed in under 200 once, against Niall Kennedy, who was 219.

I'm sure there will have been other examples of 200lbs- guys fighting at HW, but not in major fights. Reason being that, like you say, given the size of the average HW nowadays, even...
