I bet he was angling for a step-aside check from the Saudis. Wouldn't be surprised if he got one....

Crawford invoked his right to become the mandatory challenger, though. It's possible the WBO will allow him to fight Madrimov for the vacant WBO since Crawford was supposed to be the mandatory challenger to the Tszyu v Fundora winner and we're apparently either getting a rematch or a Spence fight i...

I wonder if the WBO will strip Fundora and add that belt to this fight as well. The Big Dunn likes this.

You act like he's the first nutbag father to train his champion son.
Angel Garcia, Ruben Guerrero, Kenny Porter, Teofimo Lopez? This is nothing new.charliepaerker likes this.

The last thing we need is to empower more guys who have obvious untreated mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Ryan should be getting professional care right now, not fighting world class boxers.

The article says that a step-aside fee is in play.
So Charlo takes a check and then he can invoke his right to challenge against the winner....

Charlo is still the reigning Lineal, TBRB, and Ring Magazine Champion. The Ring belt is worth way more than any alphabet soup belt....

When he fought Brook and Khan he was trying to unify but he was being frozen out by PBC while Spence, Porter, Ugas, and Garcia all went round and round. It's an entirely different situation now.
He fought Brook and Khan because there wasn't anybody else for him to fight. Now he has Madrimov...KING.TUT.766 BoxOfficer like this.

What's wrong is he went MIA until Crawford had apparently settled on Madrimov for his next opponent.
If Charlo had any guts at all he'd just fight Crawford directly, but instead PBC is trying to freeze him out. Fundora, Bohachuk, Spence, and Tszyu all seem to be grouped together so Crawford...BoxOfficer likes this.

Ennis should shut up and win a title at 154 if he wants the Crawford fight.
It's ludicrous to ask Crawford to go back to 147 and fight Ennis for the same belt he already vacated. Crawford has done all he's ever going to do at 147 and the next chapter of his career is at 154.
So instead of standing around whining, Ennis needs to understand that and take some initiative....BADGERBHOY El_Mero like this.

This is a way, way, way better option.
Crawford's resume:
135: Lineal/TBRB, Ring Magazine, WBO
140: Lineal/TBRB, Ring Magazine, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO undisputed
147: Lineal/TBRB, Ring Magazine, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO undisputed
154: nothing so far

Bum? Madrimov is ranked #3 by TBRB and The Ring and he has the WBA belt. The champion Charlo, #1 Fundora, and #2 Tszyu won't fight him so who the hell else is he supposed to fight?...

Two of the most insufferable assbags in all of sports. Why on Earth would anybody watch those two talk about anything?
Oscar's only value to the world was in the ring. Stephen A. Smith never had any value. The Big Dunn likes this.
