  • They've only given him a 2 year contract so they never had much belief in him.

    I'm ambivalent to him now.

    I don't think he's good but I have less faith in Boehly and the sporting directors to make a good call in his replacement than I do in the players to modestly improve under...

  • I think we are philosophically opposed then.

    In terms of top end successful football managers it would be a struggle to find an elite one who wasn't emotionally led because all of them are a few months of poor results away from the sack.

    That isn't to say your model isn't used...

    Big summer for Palace. The new man has got them purring and you look at some of those players - they could all play for big teams or Palace gamble and have a go at improving.

  • Football and sport is entirely emotion led though. Everything is based on ultimately gaining a foothold and momentum or eventually you get sacked.

    That is not just at Chelsea that is at any team in the world across any team sport.

    If Chelsea can win another 3 games. He stays....

  • I think the moment Hoddle brought in Gullit we became a decent side. Then next came the sky money and Italian influx and we became the West London club the others ones aren't really anything.

    QPR could have been a bigger club if they struck out from Loftus Road decades ago.

  • I remember when they finished 4th in the prem! But they are a proper team.

    Still think I'd like Leeds to come up again too.

    Some of the clubs in the prem are pretty milky pointless teams: Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth are just so meh. I know football's strength is that there...
