No, i was talking to NJFighter91. He made an earlier comment before about being the only kid in his school that "dresses good" and his opinions on "fatties" reaks of immaturity.

One of the guys at my gym is significantly bigger than me. I think he was 258+ and 5'8 or 5'9 for his first fight (i'm fairly certain that I'm taller than him at 5'10 or 5'11). The guy hung real well with a guy over 6 foot and a buff 240+.

At 6'4, 300 you can go real far as a heavyweight. Just don't try to do too much too fast. Big guys can't work out the same as little guys. These little guys like to double their own programs for big guys who have to work extra hard just to do the same amount; which is a little messed up. You really have to steadily & consistantly make changes; and that will ensure your success.

Cut out the smoking, or at least cut it back- no more than once a month.

Eat better- get your 6 servings of veggies, stay away from fried stuff & sugary stuff, try to cut out sodas if possible-or at least switch to diet, make sure you're eating as much chicken & tuna as possible, and complex carbs like oatmeal will give you the energy you need in your workout. Diet too strict and the second you get off of it, you'll pack on serious weight- plus it won't work as well if you try to do it in the future. Just be consistent.

Get some cardio. These little guys like to prescribe 6 days a week of insane cardio because cardio doesn't make them sore the next day, unlike for big guys. I would say at least 3 days a week of whatever cardio doesn't make you too sore the next day for 30 to 45 minutes a session. Trust me, the heavier you are, the more calories you'll burn. You're going to burn something like twice as many calories per minute as a 150lb guy doing the same exercise. Try to worry more about your heart rate & perceived effort than actual speed or distance, because the speed and distance will come as long as you're working hard. Do at least one of those days with sprint sessions of some sort.

Being a heavy guy, calisthenics are no joke. You'll get more muscle gains from calisthenics than most little guys will ever get hitting the weights at a gym & spending their allowance on supplements. You need to be doing pushups, bodyweight squats, squat thrusts, pullups, dips, and chinups whenever you can.

Your power will be sick if you learn leverage and proper mechanics. Pivot that back foot but keep it planted, twist those hips, and turn that shoulder over. Good mechanics is more important than throwing a overly-tensed "power" punch. True KO power doesn't feel like that much strain.

Take care of your joints- you need light warm ups & stretching so you're not laid up with injuries. Big guys get more injuries than little guys because regardless of the size of your tendons & ligaments, there's only so much force they can withstand so you want to make sure they're warmed up and working correctly.

As long as you stay consistant you'll lose the weight you need to lose in a time that's good for your body. If you try to go too outrageous with it, you'll burn out, get injured, and enter a revolving door of "gym comebacks".

Above all else, Consistancy is the Key.

what does me saying that i dress good have to do with my maturity?

i still dont understand why every is pissed...extra bodyfat doesnt help anyone. theres a small chance this kid is gonna go far being 315 pounds. i never told him he cant lose weight and hes gonna be fat forever. i just said to lose the weight and not fight at 315..

No your comment about "only kid in my school" implies that you're still in school. Your opinions on "fatties" is what i thought wreaked of immaturity; it was a personal attack that was unwarranted and I didn't mean it to come off like that. I'm just sick of this popular idea that you need a 6 pack to be any good at athletics.

Fat is a necessary "evil". Fat insulates, it protects against trauma (like bodyshots & concussions), it provides the greatest amount of energy per ounce, and it can even protect your joints.

I think in essence we both agree on the core issue though.
The guy needs to get in shape if he wants to box. I only disagree on that he needs to go on a crazy diet, do insane amounts of possibly injurous cardio, and drop too much weight too quickly.

If he's 315 now at 6'4 and maybe 25% bodyfat, I'd rather see him work out consistantly, eat reasonably, and get down to say 18% bodyfat at 280; versus going on a crash diet to get to 15% bodyfat & 240 but making his energy levels tank and causing him to gain a lot of that weight back as soon as he misses a week or two from the gym.

nobody is pissed, just annoyed you are like a little boy at a school yard trying to be little the fat kid for your own personal gain. Nobody promoted out of shape people to fight. 315 at his height isn't unthinkable, if you had been around the sport you would realize that. The training and diet that Punch Drunk, Pork Chop and myself had sugested would knock a good 50 off that 315 in under 3 months. probably before his first fight. argue that his height at 250 would be a BAD thing so I can laugh. The people here who know what the hell they are talking about have actually been there and have first hand knowledge are offering consructive critisism and help. You are wasting air. making no points and are not offering anytype of knowledgeable advice. Just making noise. You would only like me to stfu so you woiuld stop sounding so bad. Its too late. you have made an ass of yourself by opening your mouth. take your own advice to help yourself out. STFU

i know fat helps joints and against trauma...but thats a danger if ur like less than 9% BF...otherwise its nto a big difference.

to kingdosia...how am i picking on the "fat kid"

315 for an amateur with no experience isnt good.

i gave my advice to him...lose weight and dont fight at 315...i doubt thats ****ty advice.

again, i remember this kid because he said his nickname was Spanky. he posted his pics once...hes not near 25%, way above

ah, then he should be able to drop a large amount of weight just by being active and not eating everything he sees. no need to get all strict & severe until he plateaus.

                  Then we're good.
I was just trying to be positive and not come off like we were attacking the guy.

Butterbean's fights were fixed. This is public knowledge. Anyone who doesn't know his fights were fixed must also believe Bush when he said Iraq had WMD's. I watched many of Butterbean's crappy little fights. He didn't fight over 3, 4 rounds for a reason. He is fat. He beat guys who were in much better shape than he was until one decided not to lay down, then the **** hit the fan.

Yeah, Butterbean has some skills for an obese individual. He has quick hands and doesn't need a whole lot of technique for his punches to carry a lot of sting. His lard offers him some protection as well, besides which he is obviously a strong and muscular individual under all the fat. He had mixed success in MMA's also, but never beat anybody at a serious level. Emelianenko would kill him. And Holmes was only about 80 years old in 2002. Quite making excuses for this tub of lard.

Butterbean was fun to watch and an inspiration for fat people, but unfit to tie George Foreman's laces the second time around. All this being said, if this guy is half the fighter Butterbean is, he doesn't need to lose an ounce. But, that being said, there is only 1 Butterbean, or Two Ton Tony Galento, or other big guys I could name who trained on beer and pizza. How about Bob Sapp, who was solid muscle, and still got his ass handed to him by smaller guys at a world class level. Generally speaking, the bigger the man the smaller the heart.

And quit the crap about how fat protects the joints. Probably the leading reason for joint replacements in the world today is people who walk around or run their whole lives from a young age at weights way more than their joints can support. The only reason they don't have more joint replacements is most of these grossly obese people are dead by the time they hit 50. And, while I'm on the subject, fat people aren't usually fat because they enjoy being fat. They just use food better than other people. I couldn't get up to Fatboy's weight if I ate all day long every day. His metabolism is a disadvantage nowadays when there is plenty to eat and drink all the time.

So, you will need a lot of discipline, Fatboy, to get into any kind of shape. And you are smoking too? I wish you could have seen my mother in the hospital on Thursday whining and moaning thanks to a lifetime of smoking. She's a nicotine addict just the same as any heroin addict and I don't expect her to live another year. Every cigarette she smokes is one more nail in her coffin....
