NJ are u kiddin..? 2+hours a day? Do 45mins a day 30 at the minimum, also you should run 30mins 6-7 days a week, and for the days your not at your gym do cardio at ur house, pushups, sit-ups crunches etc.

And hows your diet? You should try and drop some weight by then.

Yeah but running for 30mins is alot harder then skippin for 30mins unless your goin at 5km a hour.

And to fatboy51 you should defiantly quit smokin its bad for you and it will help you with boxing.

As for diet i dont have a strict diet but you should stay away from all the unhealthy foods like chocolate chips candy etc. Start buyin wholewheat foods (bread, pasta etc.). Make sure you get alot of vegetables/fruits too as well as protien.

30 minutes of activity is not enough for him to lose weight especially if smoking...

i would never recommend someone to do more than an hour of continous activity but for him...thats his only option

I agree that he needs to lose some weight. But because of the fact that he is 310 lbs. (which is ****ing BIG!), jump rope is not the best solution for him. Unless you want him to get bad knees or something?
Also, 2 hours everyday is deifinitely not needed. I have a friend who weighed in at 340, at a height of 6'8". I figure 310 at 6'4", this guy would have about the same amount of overweight. When you're THAT big, it takes MUCH less training to lose weight, than when you're 5'9", 160 lbs. My friend lost 39 lbs. in his first 3 weeks, just going to the gym 4 times a week. He didn't even modify his diet. Do you realize how much energy big guys like that spend, just moving around? There's a reason why you'll never see Valuev fighting at the same pace as Marciano....

Fatboy, you need to go to the gym more before you fight. Both boxing wise and fitness wise. See if you can go to the gym 4 times a week, and do whatever you have the energy for on your days away from the gym. Beware of going at it too hard until you're in really good shape, and have lost some weight. Running, skipping rope, and most other cardio that involves leaving the ground and landing again can be very hard on your legs/knees/ankles/shins. Better to be at the gym, where you can use the bag for cardio. Also, do shadowboxing and punchout drills at home, as they don't come with the injury risk running etc. does for you. Good luck!
