A big myth in boxing is that straight up boxers with quickness don't fear the big slow punchers because they can easily outmaneuver them and beat them to be punch, but in reality even the professionals are afraid to put it all on the line against someone who can give them a serious career setback with one punch. Margarito is one of the most heavy handed guys in boxing today and he only needs one punch to hurt Mayweather bad to the point where he can then finish him off. A fight with Margarito is a lot of stress for Mayweather. One ****** mistake, and he can get laid out. A loss to Margarito would be a huge blow to his ego and reputation.
Personally I think Margarito can do it. He isn't quick, but he has timing and sledgehammers for fists. He's the type of guy who can be made to look bad by a good technical boxer, but with his power he is always only a few moments, and a few well placed punches, from upsetting any welterweight in the world. Not to mention he is enormous for a welterweight. Very tall and strong.
The only one who wants Margarito is Paul Williams, another physical specimen and dynamite puncher among the welters.
A fight between those two weltergiants would be very entertaining.

RE: the thread topic, Mayweather is very good with the rope. Anyone have a clip of Duran at work? He was my favorite jump rope artist of all boxers.
