Is it really that big of a deal? Its just a few rounds. If we decide my gloves are to small we will just wrestle and throw body blows or something :\. You also might wanna know we are using cheap everlast gloves :\.
Dude, What the hell are you trying to prove by doing this? Really? I'll let you know that I met with Floyd Mayweather sr. a couple years ago. He mentioned His fighters train in the gym for a year min before they ever even spar. This isn't a good way to have a who's **** is bigger than who's match. You are going about it all wrong. I know you are young you feel like it wouldn't be a big deal, but when you are laying on a hospitol bed trying to recover from some serious brain trauma, your mother in tears hoping that you make it your whole family the same. Will you then think that it's not a big deal? Why do you think boxers almost always get examined after a fight? This is serious. You wont be a ***** if you back out, Just smart. Go to a reputable boxing gym and have a serious discussion with a quaified trainer if you don't want to take my advice. And by the way your gloves are garbage. I damn Everlast for ever making there cheap Sporting Goods store Gloves. They are nothing more than novelty items.
    stop the madness.

Its an ego thing :\. We love eachother but we've always been competetive against eachother. This is just another sport we want to prove ourselves in.

You seem pretty serious. I'll trust your words. Well, does anyone wanna give a second opinion?

the only 8 ounce everlast glove is their pro-fighting ones, right?
There's a guy at my gym who uses 8 oz. gloves, but only on the big focus mitts and for light bag work. When he connects with the focus mitt, it's like catching cannonballs. . . and he's a welterweight. I would never -- EVER -- want to get hit full-speed with an 8-oz. glove for even one full round.

Samuel, you would have to be insane to do what you're talking about. Don't do it.

I've boxed for 2 monthes now and I still am nowhere near getting to spar. Boxing is a science, fighting is brutal and dumb. I have an idea for you, take off the gloves and just duke it out. Don't masquerade your purely ego driven attempt to prove your manhood as boxing. Don't taint the sport i love, like so many other idiots on youtube have done. I dont have anything against you mate, i just feel like boxing and fighting are two seperate things and shouldnt be treated as the same thing.

A while back I wanted to do the same thing as you Samuel. Me and two mates wanted to go and get some head gear, gloves, mouth gaurd, the lot just so we can mess around in one others backyard. However we opposed of it, and instead went to a boxing gym and hoped we could spar properly in the ring instead of just throwing punches ******ly and getting each other hurt by accident in a non supervised place..the backyard. You never know what can happen doing what you want to do at the moment, you might end up breaking a rib or two playing so ******. So lsten to people here, go to a gym and learn the basics with your friend, and hope one day you can spar safely in the ring.

Do what the **** you feel.

If you wanna piss around with friends and some gloves on then do it. Be warned you might lose a tooth, break your nose, get knocked out or some other damage that you might get by fighting.

However if you are both untrained it will just be a messy untechnical fight that wont last that long. Im guessing you'll both get tired after just one round and then all the danger is gone. However if he is stronger than you be aware that he punches harder than you do. Its only when you pick up skills, that you can mash up boys taller than you and stronger than you.

There are a lot of trainers "respectable ones" who would make you wait as long as a year to spar. Foyd Mayweather Sr. and Teddy Atlas to name a few.
