Not how you make your fist but the position of it when your throwing a hook. Either like you are giving the thumbs up and throwing a hook or you are keeping you hand level like you would a regular jab (except throw a hook) Get it?

My Trainer Informed Me And I Have Heard It Elsewhere To Throw It Verticaly Because The Power Of The Punch Is Lost Short Of The Contact Point When You Use It Horiazontaly, But Your Right There Are Some Great Hookers That Use It The Later Of The Two And Also Those Who Mix It Up, Maybe It's A Person To Person Thing

try to throw horizontaly to the head, cause its easier to avoid insides.

I turn my hooks in close to medium range, if i need to throw out my hook a little further out then i dont turn the shot so thumbs up
