How old are you and what are training to do? .Rockin'
27.
Honestly, not sure. I never intended to fight. I never took up boxing for fitness, I just wanted to see how far I could go, but I ended up loving boxing. I didn't realize it until too late that my coach is training me as if I were going to fight. So, whether I fight or not one day, not too sure. It's come up before between us, and I'm sure he'll bring it up again, but right now he's giving me hell over my conditioning lol.
That's why I was asking about rest days. I'm getting railed left and right about running, boxing, toning, eating, water, sleep, weight, footwork, stretching, it's never ending LOL.

Gotta love boxing.
It's so easy to love boxing with the saratonin and adrenaline being pumped through your veins as it is when you spar. ..Rockin'
rest is necessary. sometimes after training hard and fighting a lot, take a few days off just randomly, see how much sharper u feel
I was just thinking about that the other day, one of our guys is up for a bout soon, and he'll be taking the week off prior. Realized how much we wear ourselves out training and conditioning that it's almost vital for the rest period prior to a fight.
Too much training with no rest and recovery days seems to eventually result in injury for me. Love the energized, sharp and quick feeling after a day or two off.

He'll come back after 1 week off, for this fight, and get his ass handed to him. He believes that he will come back after resting his body for a full week and be sharp and prepared for war. What he believes will be there for him, skill wise, will not show it's face during this bout. What he believed would be there in his body will also be missing, with him trying to get gas from an empty tank. He may not get his ass handed to him but he has certainly made this bout harder for himself. In this bout a strong mind will help, but a prepared body would help more... Boxing is called the hurtin' business for a reason. Sure, you hurt during the fights. But you should hurt during the training more because you are conditioning your self for the pain, and more so how to work through it ...Rockin'
I stopped doing yoga for about 3 weeks... I didn't have enough time or free days anymore to do yoga, but maybe I should square out a day once a week for it again. I did feel like yoga actually did help, even a little bit.
I never found yoga boring, if anything, I was more intimidated by it lol. After a week of working your muscles out hard, stretching them isn't as much of a breeze as people think, especially when you're doing hot yoga or power yoga.
On your rest day, (easy and mellow) yoga could be great. Stretching your body and digging deep in to your mind. What's not to like about that? ……...Rockin'

Definitely the energy after a rest day is amazinggg. I feel drained if I train non-stop for more than two weeks straight. Did it before and it was all mental strength and resolve that had me continually going to the club or gym to workout because my body was done lol.
But like a lot of you guys said on here, I should have listened to my body, I ended up hurting my ankle during that time. Now, I know better, still learning the in's and out's of boxing & proper conditioning, but a lot smarter decision making now a days lol.
