If you drink alcohol stop it. If you drink soda or sugary drinks stop it. Stop eating any sort of processed sugar (sweets, bread, pastries, etc), and stop eating carbs in general.

And then I'd recommend intermittent fasting and an extreme caloric restriction.

I've lost about 20 lbs in a span of a month. Started at 178, went down to 158 and now I'm hovering around 160-164.

    Cutting carbs is ******

You might feel amazing and full of energy out in the real world but once you get in the ring, you are gonna be ****ed

    Plus, bad breath

You need those good carbs... brown rice, etc. This is boxing, not weight-watchers

i never understand how people find it so hard to lose weight. Ive dropped 7 kg in two months and i was lean-ish to begin with. just keep the protein high, do resistance training and dont be excessively greedy. As long as you do that theres still plenty of leeway to eat nice things. I find intermittent fasting makes it easier to manage hunger too.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess more than anything right now is finding the will-power to just "do it." I'm 26 now and last year I doing good. I was 155 in boxing training, was eating so and so but didn't drink sodas and avoided eating junk food. I drank water and took my vitamins (sounding like Hulk Hogan here), but then I kinda lost tracks. Well, that had me noticing one day that I went from 155 to 176. Not a good feeling but I appreciate the tips and hopefully I'll be able to post updates soon!

What do you mean by intermittent fasting BTW.

Most of the carbs I consume are in fruits. I'll eat some quinoa and brown rice, occasionally some oats but usually very little. You can substitute fats for carbs.

I've found that training without carbs I have more stamina. Sparred 7 rds in a row without the carbs and still feel fresh at the end, and have tried the same thing with the carbs and start to feel slightly sluggish and fatigued after round 5. These were at different times in my training so my overall cardio/fitness could have something to do with it.

I also never noticed any change in breath, but have noticed a lack of smell in my sweat.

Basically condense the time window that you eat.

When I'm intermittent fasting I'll only eat from 10am-4pm or noon-6pm.
So usually I'll wake up at 6-630am, drink a cup of black coffee, go for my run (45 mins or so), take a quick cold shower, then I start working. I won't eat my first meal until 10-11am usually, which is a shake.

I'll then eat my first meal a couple hours later, usually around noon or so, and I eat my last meal around 3-4pm. I then won't consume any food (no snacks or junk food or anything really other than water) until the next day.

I do that sometimes, although my final meal is usually around 6pm.
