As far as the youtube video, I've considered this before. I've even wondered if there were videos specifically made for this purpose.
Quite a few videos out there to be honest.

Why not just use your mind, imagine the opponent and react to it. …..Rockin'

Next time you're shadowboxing, watch whoever is working the heavy bag and pretend the punches he's throwing are being aimed at you. So if he throws a right hook to the head you have to slip/block etc. Do some combinations when he's not punching and practice defense when he starts punching.

Probably best to do it without him noticing lol.

Good idea? You could even do it at home while watching a youtube video or something
Do one better... try and reenact a fight you saw on TV!!

Or if he want a calories burner, imitation of Mayweather will do the trick

It might be my inexperience, but my imagination struggles in this area. When shadowboxing I have difficulty working through what an opponent is doing.

Than just mimic what you do on the mitts. Jab, right hand, hook, get under...etc. Just don't do the same thing twice in a row. And be sure, when you finish throwing your fists, that you do something defensive. If your trainer is watching he should tell you what you need to correct, if he even knows.……..Rockin'

What about my spider monkey spin kick? They would never expect it!

I think a large part of the issue was that it was my first one in years and years, and my adrenaline was through the roof.

I've since had controlled sparring since then, and it has improved. What I WANT to do is wade in there and have at it, but we all know that has limited effectiveness and really doesn't help the end-game, which is to be a better boxer.
