It's not much but here are 2 short videos from about 2 weeks ago. My opponent said to go easy on eachother so I was focusing on defense- creating distance, parrying the jab and attempting to slip and duck punches a little.
Because he was so aggressive I thought he was quite easy to read, so I don't think I had any problems against him.
But I noticed that my footwork was TERRIBLE- I suppose because he was keeping me moving most of the time.

Also I have zero stamina right now...by the end of the 2-minute round I was very tired. I have my second "match" in May, so I'm gonna train hard for that. last time was last year.

I'd be grateful for any advice!

    Thanks!

I assume you have the light blue headgear?

You didnt once move to your right, everything was like you were going around the maypole same direction

An experienced fighter will start forcing you left, to hit you with a right hook

Relax your shoulders, by no means adopt a new style but a good technique to imitate on the bag/mitts is Prince Naseem in throwing with arms by your side, it will help to relax shoulders, then adopt the same mentality of relaxing but throwing from your orthodox hand position

Sorry, yeah that's me in the light blue headgear.

        Thanks for the advice!
I've been hearing "relax your shoulders" since I started boxing but I think you're the first person to actually suggest a way of practising that! Thanks, I'll try it out

by all means, take his style on but you need to be insanely fast, not just in hands but also reflex to dodge.

I get people to just do 30 seconds on the heavy, square your feet up so they are parallel, shrug your shoulders out and just throw like your a gun slinger from the hip.

1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1,2 (you get the idea), shrug your shoulders again do for another 30 seconds, then after youve done a few reps, then do a proper round on the bag with your proper guard etc.

          should feel 'Lucy Goosey'

          'ah, i miss Naz'

Do that drill as fast as possible?

lol, I'm never gonna imitate Prince Naseem in a real fight though, I'm too slow for that!

First of all my respect for posting your sparring footage and for stepping in the ring.
Appreciate that you are not 'scared' to post footage.

                To Part 1:

0:02 - when you throw that right hand to the body keep your shoulder higher. Your face was pretty open
0:04 - when he comes attacking you just jab, jab, jab and pivot out to your left side (right video side)
maybe even throw a left hook while pivoting out
0:06 - when you see him slipping like that you'll know he will come with a big hook
so block it, duck under it and always JAB when you back off. Don't let him get close to you
He was wide open on his right side while throwing the hook so you could have countered him with a
left hook and then follow with a combination
0:10 - he was stalking you and moving his head while doing it. You did a good job at jabbing him and
breaking his rhythm! When he keeps coming at you with his head movement throw some
jabs, feint a jab and then come with a combination (uppercut, hooks, body shots). Or simply tie him up
0:15 - he was pretty wide open trying to catch you. A hook on his dropped guard would have caught him

Other than that here are some things I noticed:

DO NOT try to catch or block punched by putting your hands at the punches like you did in 0:45,0:39,0:34
you will just leave yourself wide open doing that

Tuck in your chin! Your chin is sometimes wide in the air leaving again yourself wide open for shots

When you move backwards do not cross your feets, you will just lose all your balance doing it

Try to establish ring dominance by pressing the attack. Don't always "Run".

When you get caught with a body shot don't drop your guard 0:46!

                PART 2:
0:01 - Do not drop your guard when throwing an uppercut and don't swing it, only using your arm! You got countered immediately with a jab. Use your whole body and stay tight.
0:20 - same thing with your body shots, don't swing them and don't drop your guard. Use your whole body when turning into the shot

It may sound a little negative but you did an overall good job!
How long have you been boxing and how old are you?
And as you seem to be living in Japan how is communication there?
I see that you rocking winning gear as well, how much do they cost
                in Japan?

a little headmovement would help you out, also you wouldnt have to move laterally so much

switch up you pattern too...go left then right, right then left

mix in stab jabs to the body too

                  keep working at it bro

here is some footage I'd like to share with you and leave me a comment, critique, advice
