I also think loading is slow.
I'm constantly shifting my weight, wiggling left-right diagonally when moving forward or backward.
When i move my head to left that means im loaded on my front leg for left hook. When i move it to right-back im loaded on my back leg slightly for one-two combo.

Important not to get too herky jerky. You could throw off your own rhythm and throw off your balance and root. Also you can load for a punch (hook, cross, or whatever.) from a balanced stance. Having your weight distribution skewed is a tactical ploy with pros and cons, but not required for execution. In fact you can transition more fluidly and and be more able to adapt to the tactics of your foe from a balanced stance.

Loading process should not be laborious or lingering. That's called telegraphing. Mental imagery helps to gel muscle memory and flow of movement. When you throw a hook, throw as if you have already thrown a lead right to set it up. When you throw a right, throw as if a jab preceded it...even if it hasn't. There is a reason there are punches called setups. Not just to set up your opponent but also to set up your own body alignment. A jab, for instance, pans the torso wide like a pendulum... And the right is the inevitable return of that pendulum to its starting position. It is your right hand following the natural torque that has been generated. If you hold a rubber band at its base with your thumb and forefinger and twist it taut with your other hand... When you let go, the rubber band will return to its original state. This is also the case with your body, if you let it. You can piggy back this natural process to load your shots, naturally

Legs are your foundation from whence power is derived. Without foundation there is no balance, without balance, your body's natural way of generating power is disrupted. Your base, It should be solid but also mobile. Your mobility can be derived while within a balanced stance by utilizing explosive jumsteps. Pivot steps can be employed to aid hooks.

It's a lot less complicated than it sounds. But here's a rule of thumb. You should not be "adding" legs to your shots. You should be adding shots to your legs, aided by the natural process of power generation that is available to you.
