  • Find it really hard to get my legs into a fully loaded hook or cross

Like when you are fully loaded its impossible to get your knee low. Because in that position its impossible anatomically, only as the leg comes around can you lower the knee (to get the legs into the punch) BUT I find that its too hard to do it in such a short space of time.

Its a bit much to ask you to explosively turn your leg/hip, , wait for the knee to get in the right position THEN lower the knee to the ground its just so freaking hard to do it in such a short space of time.

    Any tips?

Yeah empty your cup. Don't try to fill out this large check list of what you need to do in order to throw a punch. for the right form you got a feel for the right form otherwise everything isn't going to be cohesive enough when you enter the process. it's going to be disjointed and it's going to be wrong. Furthermore, you also have to let your body flow naturally if you're doing something in your form that feels unnatural and throws your body out of balance or or feels like you have to shoehorn something in, then that's the wrong form for you. At the end of the day everybody has their own style (even guys from within a set style have individual flair, due to varying body types and mindsets) . You do whatever feels most effective and natural for you and then let your trainer make minor adjustments to your style. That's your trainer's job. Your job is geling it all together and that won't happen if you overthink things.

If that all went one ear out the other..then a good way is start back working on your foundation without throwing a punch, your steps..your stance...then add in your punch..slowly and softly! When you have it down slow you can add speed and power.

              The ingratitude......

Look if you don't want me to post in your threads no more I wont. I'm merely trying to help and telling you exactly what I would tell a pupil. This the thing...I'm honest.. I see you going around here asking all sorts of questions that are pretty much dead on indicators that you have alot of preconceived notions up in your brain space, that are most probably impeding your development. I don't know who is teaching you or if you are self taught or whatever, but things ain't gonna gel if you approach this **** like a math problem. Find your rhythm..find what clicks for YOU... that's that next level... you ain't gonna get too far copying a style or following some rule book you've happened upon. You let me know, I'll take myself elsewhere and leave your little pieces of the Web in the void.

bs ITS LIKE A MATH PROBLEM, BOXING ISNT COMPLEX ENOUGH TO JUST TELL PEOPLE TO FIND WHAT WORKS FOR THEM

                    You mean simple?

Well...boxing and martial art in general is very simple at the core of it. But it does present a conundrum of sorts...some complex theory but elemental in its application. You gotta bridge the gap! There are foundational principals that you gotta think on to increase aptitude and flow, but in practice you gotta think less is more. Approaching it like a math problem is wrong wrong WRONG. And wrong....

Ain't have time for all that when you in the fray. You will find this out the hard way if you don't listen to some of us.
