Jabbing Mistakes.

Are you gonna explain why? I know it's not the easiest thing trying to explain the mechanics of the jab over the Internet.

I was taught punching upwards is bad and lazy if it's not warranted(IE you are facing Someone taller and HAVE to Or you are dipping down and jabbing up or something )Think about any session on the focus mitts. If a good jab is whipping from the shoulder to the middle of the target a lazier one would whip out straight and trail upwards right at the end of hitting the target mitt rather than "completing" the punch so to speak by keeping it centered all the way and turning it over at the end of it.

But I'm all ears

Your best bet is for the jab to travel upwards. This gets crossed up because people carry the left hand to high. But if you bring that jab up a bit you can pop it nice when you turn it over. Also it turns your shoulder over, which hides your chin.

thats all good, I prefer to have him continue to have some success "catching" and see what I can set up off his success.
It might be to feint and hook off the feint or drop right leads and follow with
multiple punches.
One problem with feints is to make sure your working off them. Everyone saw what happened to Manny when he double feinted then fell inside doing nothing.........he got creamed by Juan. Feinting can set up counters coming at you with an experienced opponent.

If you can establish a jab your in a good position to win, if you can nolify a good jab again thats a big problem for the opponent.
Being first is always the first thing you try to establish. If your getting beat off your own jab your in trouble. This a game of a adjustments, one dimentional guys better have power!!
