  • Could someone help me with an injury please??

So this has being happening alot to me for awhile now, and i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Its the inside of the elbow, kind of funny bone area. It happens when im throwing straight punches. Tonight for example, i was sparring, misjudged the distance with a jab, missed, got a bit tangled and was not able to continue.

This happens alot especially after misjudging the distance, but not limited to that.

Afterwards my arm does be killing me,cant straighten it and lets say lifting stuff or whatever is a killer, lasts for a few days, goes away (not completely) but enough to train whiteout being too sore. Till it happens again.

Iv a feeling its ligaments, read somewhere maybe a hyperextend arm or something like that.

Anyone know about this?? Or dose this happen to anyone??

Sounds like a bit of a hyper extended arm. I would stop training for like 2 weeks and if it doesn't get better, go to a doctor. If you were jabbing properly, I don't see how you could have hyper extended your arm.

Yeah sounds like it's hyped extended, are you turning your punches all the way over? If not that may be the issue.

Defiantly take some time off and ice it a few times a day for 20 minutes and just get rest and you should be fine in a week or two.

What does your trainer suggest? Are you in training for a tourney?
Are you in shape or working to get into shape? You can train without using your arm. When you shadow only extend 30% and add in slow moving wrist twist and see how they effect your elbow area.
Anoth base boxing exercise is to extend your arms to your sides and have one palm down the other up and rotate the movement slowly. This is light
work stretch with minimal srain on shoulders and elbows. It was a part of stretching for fighters at my gym forever. You can add waist twists as you work them. You can bend over at the waost and continue the arm movement.
You can extend the time until you begin to tighten then stop. As you progress with the movement you'll begoin to strength the areas quite alot. I use to ad in chin ups front & back and a variety of grip spacings.
Go slow and not many reps at the beginning.
A little heat & cold for about 10 minutes before you rest might give you some relief. Everyones different so try things out first in moderation.

On a serious not, ibuprofen containing meds such as nurofen works great for me in these scenarios. i often pick up little niggling injuries.
