headgears in competition

    im a beginner lol. when we spar, we don't go hard..
    since headgears don't lessen the impact (only prevents cuts/bruises), we don't bother wearing them XD..

      You plan on fighting with that kind of sparring experience? You need headgear and a better gym if that's how they work. I'm not saying have gym wars absolutely every time but if you never go hard and never even wear headgear you're going to lose your fights. The answer here is that you aren't REALLY sparring and you need to switch gyms if that's how they go about their business.

        Good words Bronsky, can't hit you with karma again so soon.

        Wear head gear when you are learning. You new guys tend to bump heads, get caught with akward elbows, etc, just all kinds of odd things happen in the sparring ring when 2 'new' guys go at it. One descent cut and you don't fight at all for 60-90. If you guys aren't throwing hard then the facts about headgears don't really pertain to you in the same way............ Rockin'

            well i suppose we do get carried away sometimes, and unless we do go too hard, our instructor doesn't tell us to stop.
            but conclusion, i guess i should better start wearing it.
