The perfect scenario would be to rest the days you spar if your a competitive active fighter. Its the same scenario you'd follow the day of a bout! If your still in the learning stages I don't see any harm especially if there's 8 hours separating the run from the ring.

Okay continue disrespecting each other........................its what you guys do since these idiot kids got here and are tolerated!!

    Ray.
You rest on days that you spar?

I run the days that I'd spar. A week or two of being sore heading to then gym will make you sooooo much stronger (power, endurance and speed) once you become accustomed to it.

Then, rest the day before only walking for 20 minutes or so. Rest the day of the fight and your legs will be rested as well as rebuilt and much more ready for a battle than resting on spar days.

We'll all do as we will.................. Rockin'

      Run everyday son.

I sometimes put in full drills on spar days.

      Cause that's just me.

I didn't insult anyone, so don't lump me in with Rockin acting like a know it all as usual.

Since in the bolded you seem to agree with me, I guess you are a fool as well and don't know anything about the sport of boxing.

Rockin should set up a seminar on boxing, and maybe we can attend and learn something.

Meanwhile I was in West Palm Beach this past weekend working the corner for the Golden Gloves, but hey, it's better to be here on some boxing forum telling everyone how little they know and how I know everything about the sport.

Training is a very personal thing. How one person will respond to a training regime will differ from person to person. If you can do sprint training in the morning and don't feel jaded in your afternoon sparring sesions go for it but if you feel you are underperforming when sparring give it a miss and consider sprint training AFTER sparring and see how that works out. Everybody's nervous system is different and will vary depending on the stress levels in your life so there is no right or wrong just right for you. Let the quality of your sparring sessions and what your objectives are determine which way you go.
Over time things may change as you become better conditioned. A skinny lean guy will tend to frazzle their nervous system training hard in the morning and sparring in the afternoon and tend to be more highly strung but a heavier built guy with a laid back attitude may really benefit from it. It is personal. Your training wants to be progressive where you can load on more over time by pushing the bariers but not to the point where you overload and get no results or detrimental results.

I figured the ones who knew wtf is going on would just let it go because it does not pertain to them in anyway.

Did my words pertain to you............Rockin'
