I'd assume that I should have started the count when Boxer B hits the canvas and in failing to do so I'd lost control of the contest, therefore I'd be reluctant to penalise Boxer B and his corner man.

Clearly I'm in a tight spot and don't know wtf I'm doing. Right now I'm glad that I wont be held publicly accountable for any of my actions. I'm wishing that this was pre 1955 'cause this wouldn't even be an issue, let 'em do what they want. Who cares as long as someone gets knocked out eventually, right?

Now I've got sweaty palms and everyone's staring at me like I should know what I'm doing. Surely they should know the score by now? I wish I was Terry O'Conner, he would have carried him back to the corner himself, and what!?

In the back of my mind I have a vague recollection that if a fighter is assisted after being knocked out of the ring I can deduct points or disqualify them at my discression. **** it, I'm invoking that and taking a point so I don't look so damn impotent.

Crisis over. Then I remember that Mills Lane let Tyson continue after biting off Holyfield's ear. Nobody gave him grief, so I'm not sweating this one.

If a manditory count is in order the B-fighter is automaticly DQ'd when any cornermen enter the ring!
If its allowed (entering to assist) after the bell then its up to the ref to determine if the fighters fit at the opening bell!

I hate saved by the bell in any round and if a fighters hit legally he needs to get to his feet on his own. Why should a fighter be penalized for a legal punch?

I don't mind manditory 8's I want the ref to have options as he weighs the situations out. Many times its not a cut and dry determination so an 8 count can help determine the severity and danger a fighter might be in or entering into. Ray.

Answer: Technically the fighter was never knocked down because he would have fallen to the canvas after the bell sounded.

Boxer B would be disqualified as he was unable to make it back to his corner without the assistance of his cornerman............ Rockin'

Which fighter is promoted by Don King? The answer will greatly affect my response.
