  • Did arms and shoulders,abs and cardio today...been focusing more on sprints and it has really upped my stamina..played some basketball after my workout

      • I'm starting 5x5 guys, how have you found it? Do you get less post workout soreness than the 8-12 reps for sets?

          I been doing it and imo no..you get more sore doing more reps..but the 5 by 5's has been increasing my strength very well

                I do a slightly different 5x5

                I keep the MWF doing the A-B workout. But I add some accessory lifts each day.

                Usually monday I'll throw in chest accessories (weighted dips, hammer strength, and flies)

                Wednesday I'll throw in arm accessories, because come on you aint gonna get some sickening bi/tri pumps on a 5x5

                Friday I do shoulder accessories. (lat raises, face pulls, db press)

                I also always go to the gym on saturday so I decided since SL 5x5 only has you doing 1x5 of deadlifts saturday is my deadlift/back day.

                So far it is a really good balance and I like it a lot. Gives me time to recover, the volume isn't too much but enough to hit each body part for more than just strength gains in a week.

                      Agreed on feeling satisfied on 1.7k calories. You just need to eat low calorie/high volume food. Blueberries, strawberries, egg beater, etc.
