I have heard the argument against roadwork for heavier guys, and i hear yall, if everybsingle boxing guy ive know tells me the same thing it has to have some substance.
Ive been swimming btw, its just hard to consider it a workout since i enjoy it so damn much lol.

I want to clarify, im in no fighting shape, but i did play college ball with my current physique (nosetackel) so im not "soft fat"
Never had shin splints or injuries either.
Please dont take this as me being defensive, keep those suggestions coming, its great to have people more experienced than me throwing ideas at me. Im ignorant when iy comes to boxing fitness and im awarr of it, just putting that out there so you guys can have a better idea of where im at physically.

Btw i sparred 4 full rounds yesterday 3/4 speed without breathing hard whoop whoop!
Hey bro, I feel ya when I started boxing I was a former football player weighing in about 314 lbs, nose guard as well. Cause in football that heavy size helps penetrate the line but in boxing it's a total flip so listening to everyone's suggestions they are very valid. Hard running is gonna kill your knees at 300 I know I've been there I couldn't do it lol I had to switch to alternative methods of cardio such as cycling, elliptical machine, swimming at least until you get down to 260 at least. You can also try burpees but the most important aspect and I really can't emphasis this enough is diet.

There's a saying I go by and it's that you train in a gym but you build your body in the kitchen, for your weight I'd go for a high protein, low carb diet it'll help cut down fat while maintaining muscle mass. Basically it's a cutting phase switch to complex carbs, wheat bread, oatmeal, lean meats such as chicken breast, lean steak, fish such as talapia and limit your caloric intake to about 1800 a day, I did this and shed off about 60 lbs. in my first year. But then again I was a fat **** so i was a drastic change that devastated what fat I had.

But basically joint friendly cardio and while nothing has happened your tendons, ligaments and meniscus is time bomb ready to blow by putting that type of weight on it while running. As a fellow player you know the number one killer of linemen, knee injuries. Always better to avoid than fix, but right now I'd say work on things you can do now, technique, putting your body into punch, footwork & positioning etc..
