Look here Big Guy, Ray is right about you being a walking time bomb and about possible injuries. Start with a good diet plan. I recommend you start doing green vegetables and fruit juices to start your morning because you need to get all that waste out of your body and detox the liver. That 9 week running program sound excellent. Just remember right now it's not about how fast or how much you can run but how long you can last. You also need to be working out according to your heart rate. Eat lean proteins with every meal includingI snacks and cut out all sugars, sweets, sodas, beer, bottled juices, starches, high salt and processed foods. Avoids eating simple carbs at dinner and don't eat dinner too late. The latest 6 pm. Take some Omegas with every meal and drink decaf green tea and lots of water. Most f all don't give up!

I used to be 350+ mate, honestly don't do running for your workout. Its really bad on your joints when your heavy, I got really bad shin splints in the past because of being heavy and running. I'm currently about 250 about 10kg from target weight and I still avoid running as its bad on my knees. There are plenty of other options for cardio and some are even better than running imo (swimming)

Either way good luck and keep at it, watch your calories for now that's the most important thing at the start of weight loss, don't worry so much about being REALLY strict just make sure your at a caloric deficit everyday. Then you can slowly but surely make changes to your diet, that's the way to ensure longevity. If you try to change everything at once you are more likely to fall off the wagon.

honestly man, you are too big to run. at least regularly. unless you are ripped to **** and a gifted athlete you aren;'t going to be running much at 3 bills.

you need to lose a ton of weight before you'll be able to run regularly. i get shin splints and knee pain when i run on pavement, and i am about 60 lbs lighter than you are and in decent shape.

start in the kitchen by cleaning up what you eat, keep walking / running whenever you can, and work your way up. eventually you'll lose enough weight and be able to run several miles. it may take a year or more. you're not goign to become a marathon runner if you're that big. i don't care how much you run, it will never happen that way. you'll overtrain your legs and you'll come up lame. what's most important for you right now is losing that weight

at your size, especially if you're muscular, if you eat less you will see weight drop off very quickly, especially if you exercise and eat CLEAN.

i see some good responses in this thread. people here generally know what they're talking about.

another good suggestion that i'm going to echo:

            can you swim?

swimming will stretch out and use muscles that you'll literally never use anywhere else. you won't get drenched in sweat the way you do with a run, but you'll be breating harder than you can possible imagine if you're swimming laps for long enough.

My hearts fine y'all dont worry. Maybe its the fact im only 24 or ehatnot but no health issues whatsoever have come from thr extra weight. I "run" regularly, nothings ever hurt (again perhaps its my age) just cant jog worth a crap. I have heard the argument against roadwork for heavier guys, and i hear yall, if everybsingle boxing guy ive know tells me the same thing it has to have some substance.
Ive been swimming btw, its just hard to consider it a workout since i enjoy it so damn much lol.

I want to clarify, im in no fighting shape, but i did play college ball with my current physique (nosetackel) so im not "soft fat"
Never had shin splints or injuries either.
Please dont take this as me being defensive, keep those suggestions coming, its great to have people more experienced than me throwing ideas at me. Im ignorant when iy comes to boxing fitness and im awarr of it, just putting that out there so you guys can have a better idea of where im at physically.

Btw i sparred 4 full rounds yesterday 3/4 speed without breathing hard whoop whoop!

I was 20 when I first started losing my weight so its nothing to do with age really, Just saying your more likely to get injured doing running and shin splints mean time out from working out full stop. So honestly dropping running will be better for you long term. Btw about the soft fat bit, weight is weight Ive always been a big guy 6ft6 and really wide back, doesn't really matter in terms of fat loss.

Cong**** on the sparring where are you from? I cant seem to get sparring cus of my size :/

If no health issues and not afraid of injuries then you need to step up son. If you played ball then you know what's up. Push yourself, I dare you! #road work or road kill#

If your not afraid of the injury's that come with being 300lbs and running then your daft. Say hello to shin splints, knee, hip and ankle problems. Which are all massively increased when you weigh that much.

Focus on your diet to get the weight off. At 300lbs running will be hell on your joints. Focus on keeping a solid calorie deficit and steady weight loss. For cardio try swimming or biking, both allow you to give your body much needed aerobic exercise but they are much easier on your knees.
