I've done all 3 for years......the longest I've jumped rope at one time is like 40 minutes, so on a 40 minute scale:

The hardest physically is running (I get about 4+ miles in that amount of time)

The hardest mentally is jumping rope (about 4000+ jumps in that amount of time and the messups are just frustrating)

The easiest is swimming, but it took YEARS of 4-5 day a week, 30min to 1hour swimming to get to that point. Running and jumprope never gets easy.

ideally i do do both per work out though. warm-up on the ropes, run a mile and a half and then start my body weight exercises which lately consists solely of 400 push-ups per day. then my boxing.

Yeah I normally do both too. I get my jump rope on at my boxing gym & later if I have time I'll do a 6mile run at my other gym.

Damn @ 400 pushups a day tho, I can only do bout 220 lmao

Honestly, running+jumping rope+400 pushups a day is a damn good workout and can take you far in any sport.

You would just need to make sure to do some ab work if you're a boxer. TO make sure you can take body shots.

you think so? i am a bit older...my aim is to get to 1000 in a day. i do tend to neglect my abs as well.

i am hoping to be able to find a fight within the next few months even though i am past amateur age.

just do sets of twenty-five after a proper warm up on the ropes. if you're at 220 you can get to 400.

              check out this website.

www.hundredpushups.com it's what got me to where i am at. where in Toronto are you at - if you don't mind me asking.

I do. Herschel Walker and Ricky Henderson are two major athletes who supposedly only did pushups and situps and running for their workouts. I think that's the way a lot of sportsmen used to train in the days before weights became so popular.

Many exercises are good for cardio, but it ain't about what you do, is how you do it. Someone swimming with intensity will get better results than someone who does a 20km light jog.

If you want to get fitter (not get fit, but fitter) you have to put in the effort.

Running is superior. Its like sustained agony.

Cross country skiing is the best cardio of all. Those cross trainers in the gym that mimic the skiing motion are almost as good.
