what would you say the clear definition of a "potshot" is? And when to use them? Im talking single punches not so hard more accurate and then move.
Best example would easily be floyd mayweather, he picks people apart all day and doesnt get hit ie lead cross then he's outa range.

My question is, is there a specific time to do this? Or is it just for quick points, strategy, set ups,etc etc? If anyone can give me a educated anwser on this that would help. Thanks in advance

If you can potshot your opponent then he has to come forward or lose on points. That way you can force him to be the aggressor and create opportunities to counter.

One that worked well for me...When you exchange punches, a lot of guys will step back and re-set themselves, maybe shuffle their feet, drop their hands, or just relax for a second. I had a lot of luck stealing a right hand in those spots.

What do you mean by this?

Hitting them with a lead right hand when they thought they were out of range. You move in and there is an exchange of punches, and maybe you step around him, or to the side and away, he steps back. A lot of times guys will think you're 'done' for the moment and relax. If your feet are right, you can slide in and land the right hand.

            sneaky move i like it.

i some times throw an unorthodox right uppercut when me and my opponent are shoulder to shoulder, (both orthodox and in pretty much philly shell close range fighting) my left shoulder is just about touching his left shoulder and all your both thinking about is the danger from a left hook or a right hand over the top, fake the left hook then throw a right uppercut so its across your body almost trying to throw it past your left shoulder, hopefully if he trys to duck your left hook fake then he will just duck straight into your uppercut. be careful of his left hook while you throw this and be ready to move. not sure if this is really a pot shot but its a nice shot.
