    Considering that everybody wears the same size gloves, and those gloves are now 12 ozs, comparative pillows to the 4 oz gloves worn in the 1920s, I don't think that the size of one's hands make much difference. Not in the way you are supposing.
    Where it makes a difference is in how your hands handle the stress put upon them by punching hard and often. Genaro Hernandez, for example, was nearly 6' tall, but only walked around in the low 130s, so he was pretty small boned, with prominent knuckles. He punched very hard for his weight, which damaged his hands very badly, and thus he had a low ko percentage.

        Simple physics will show that a larger surface area will impact with less force than a smaller area because it is spread out over a wider area.

              When did this change occur? I still thought it was 8oz up to welter and 10oz from then up.

                  fist size doesn't have a whole lot to do with it but forearm bone size does I'm sure. obv technique comes #1
