  • Swimming Vs. Jogging

    Which 1 is better ? why?

    Pretty equal!

    Disadvantages of swimming are:

    1) Paying for a pool.
    2) Monotony of seeing the same view lap after lap


    Disadvantages of jogging:

    1) Constant impact on the joints
    2) Bad weather


    Other than that both are superb exercises......

      using your shoulders to swim for half an hour then using your shoulders to punch stuff for an hour or vice versa isnt the best combination.

        It's way better both mentally and physically.

          Can't argue with that................

          Only disadvantages with swimming in the sea are:

          1) Difficult to measure distance swam/speed/improvement etc. In a measured swimming pool this is much better

          2) Wind and tidal movements/currents can make any perceived improvement/calculations quite turbulent.

                Great post! Some people/trainers swear roadwork is superior to swimming just because it's been used in boxing training for so long. Many have the attitude "it's better because it is".

                  Yeah.

                  Also, you don't drown while running/jogging. Both activities require fitness but only one of them requires you to learn to "swim" in order to perform the activity in the first place.

                  Also there is ways to negate impact on the joints. 1) Don't jog on the pavement, and use the treadmill. Try to learn to jog off your front foot/toes instead of stomping with the back foot.

                  Jogging>> Swimming for me.

                    Cycling fits the bill too, but downhills provide near as dammit complete breaks, so I edge running and swimming.
