Well my advice would be is take a week of just eating as you regularly would and log it and find out how much calorie you take in a day, protein, fat etc. (you may have already done this)

Then depending what that number is 2500 could be enough to cut, although its seems a little high so you might have to drop to 2000 or so.

Keep track of everything you eat reach the calorie goal, but try and get a good amount of protein, carbs, and not too much fat.

But from the original post you want to lose weight and get ripped. Depending on your weight and bf% now, if its not too high, I would say do a bulking phase before you cut. That way you could drop some weight and the lean muscle will be there and you will look much more 'ripped'.

Honestly, losing/gaining weight just comes down to number crunching and discipline. Eat what you will just make sure you are keeping track of it.

if you eat all donalds all day you'll die young. very young.
and you'll be flabby as hell.

      period.

how is the food you eat not relevant?
      Two things.

      1) This thread and all the advice given has been with regards to weight loss and body composition. Nothing to do with general health, diabetes, etc.

      2) The types of food you eat are only relevant in that they fit into your daily goals. I will say it again, in terms of weight loss and the impact on body composition, a gram of protein/fat/carbohydrates is the same regardless of whether I get it from a grilled piece of chicken breast or from a Big Mac.

Obviously if I eat McDonalds all day I am going to find it very difficult to meet my nutrient requirements and calorie intake level aren't I? Having said that, I could very easily show you a meal plan where I eat McDonalds one meal every day but still fit it into my cutting diet and meet my protein requirement. That would be perfectly ok and you will lose weight doing that.

In a previous post you said "you gotta eat the right stuff". That is rubbish and basically demonstrates that you are not in a position to give people advice on this issue.

Again note that this is a thread about weight loss, not general health.

Yeah sweet, he says getting ripped (i.e. losing weight/impacting body composition) is his objective specifically.

Given that, "eat the right stuff" is not sound advice. You can't do anything for him.

              Strong post.

I'm not going to repeat what I have said previously in this thread, but the advice I gave still stands and its a hell of a lot better than the garbage you wasted your time with.

In summary, its calories in vs calories out, food choices are irrelevant so long as you meet your calorie/protein/fat targets. Want McDonalds? Eat it. Just adjust the rest of your food choices accordingly.

The key to losing weight is very simple: If you burn more than what you consume, you lose weight. If you consume more than what you expend, you gain weight. Cut back at least 500 calories and by this I mean junk food or any other kind of edible substance that will only serve to pack on pounds. Do your roadwork early in the morning before you have breakfast, your body will use your fat reserves for energy as opposed to glycogen. Include other activities that revolve around fat burning(calisthenics, jumping rope, etc.) and while you're at it include a hard session of sprinting in your workouts as well, this will aid your goal.

Also cut back on portions and eat frequently(every two to three hours). Five meals; three squares and two light snacks will do the job

Understand that, I am more posting for the benefit of the OP who asked for advice on this topic in the hope that he will disregard what you have said.

This is personal preference. Personally I like big meals so I like to back-end my calories and have 1-2 larger meals after training in the early evening. If you prefer eating small meals regularly though this is obviously fine also. Meal timing and the number of meals over which you consume your daily calories are largely irrelevant in terms of weight loss and body composition. Just do what you like.
