  • Tips for first fight

Hey guys, I will hopefully be having my first amateur fight in 3 weeks. It will most likely be 2 minute rounds, with 3 of them (or something like that), I right now weigh 79 kg (174 pounds) and I stand about 5 ft 9.

Are there any tips you guys could recommend me or something I should do specifically during training to get ready?

    Cheers.

Don't be the guy that runs out of gas after 2 rounds. If you can keep the pressure on your opponent for all three rounds you'll give yourself a better chance of winning. (Obvious I know.)

        I hope this helps

The most important Tip i can give you for your first amateur fight its this.... DONT THINK THIS FIGHT WILL BE LIKE A PRO FIGHT YOU SEE ON TV dont try to study your oponent and dont expect some tense standoffs because it wont be like that. Most amateur fights the guy will just come swinging because its a point system and the one that throws more wins.

One tip ? THROW AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ! thats the best tip for amateur.

Dont worry about getting tired rounds go fast in the amateurs, and the other guy will be tired fast too ( at least 90% of the time )

So if u still have time to train, then train on conditioning and on throwin punches like crazy

          ^Pretty much.

If you CAN use boxing skill (footwork, jab, tight defense) you will have a huge advantage but generally first fights just end up being brawls and it comes down to heart and stamina.

No matter how good your conditioning is you will get tired becuase you have adrenaline, nerves, you'll likely be throwing every punch trying to kill the guy etc. But the better your conditioning is, the better you will do.

Go to your doctor and get a prescription for ambien..Getting a good nights sleep before a fight is a must..Save all the adrenalin and endorphins for the fight and not have them wasted and depleted from a night of the jitters..
