  • Vaseline on arms?

In the amatures in the UK is it allowed to put vaseline on the forarms as I always get cut, sc****s and bruises on then from taking shoots and parrying.

In the US I know you're not allowed to. I did it once in a tournament and they made me whipe down. They don't even want very much on your face for some odd reason.

The rules are generally the same everywhere. It's technically not allowed, but unless your totally covered in it, the refs usually don't care. Unless you're in a major national or international event where they have to go by the book, or you get some ref who's trying to act like a bigshot.

You're supposed to only be allowed a small amount of vaseline around the eyes, but I put it all over my face and have never been told to wipe it off. It's also hard to tell if it's grease or just sweat unless they touch you or you have globs of it hanging off.

So just put it on, the worst thing that can happen is they make your coach wipe it of with a towel.
