I've been working on my jab recently but, can't seem to get the snappiness(lol) that I'm after. It's more of an average paced hard jab I have just now but, I want to improve the accuracy and speed, Any Tips or Exercises?
Thanks.

The way I teach the jab is to think of snapping a towel. A fraction of an inch before your glove hits the bag, yank your hand back into your guard, HARD, so that your glove kind of whips out and snaps against the bag on the way back. This will also get your hand into your guard quickly and make your jab hard to counter. The bag should pop loudly and jump, but not swing. If the bag swings, you're pushing your punches.
I came across an interesting book awhile back. It's called "The Straight Lead", by Terri Tom. It's based on Bruce Lee's straight right lead, it goes over the mechanics and philosophy. I played around with it and it did make some sense. A lot is based on the philosophy of Jack Dempsey's jab.

This will give you a quick jab but you'll have nothing behind it. If you use this you will have to have good movement. I fought a guy in the gloves who was fast and all but he had NO power or anything behind his jabs. He was fast and was troublesome for the first round. 2nd round I just decided to eat his jab and fire a right hand over it back at him. Result: Rockin Robbie W-KO2. I ko'd him the first time I tried it.
Gotta have something behind it..................Rockin'
I threw a jab with my dominant hand and then with my weaker hand. I tried mimicking the exact same feeling in the weak hand as in my dominant and found that I needed more grip strength as well as stronger triceps and lats in my weak side. I worked on those three and kept mimicking the exact feelings I would expect in my dominant hand's jab with my weak hand and I wound up creating a ******* style jab.
One tool that accelerated this ******* style jab was the kettlebell. Hope this helps.
