  • messed up shoulders

hi guys. ive had shoulder trouble since i was like 10. both shoulders sort of dislocate. it sort of pops out and i cant feel or move it, but it pops back in fairly quickly (few seconds). ive been to the docs a few times and they found nothing. but its been getting worse. i started a boxercise class at the local gym to get my fitness up before i join a proper boxing gym and we do a lot of mit work. once when ive been on the mitts it popped out and once when i landed a good hit on the mit. then a few days ago i was training on the speed bag and it disllocated mid hook. i have literaly no idea what to do. like i said i have been working on my fitness loads and realy been working up to when i can go to the real boxing gym. to find out now my body cant stand it is devastating. is there anything i can do? thanks

get to a dr and get refered to a physio asap.. otherwise the ligaments will get lax (loose) and then your ***ed..

well i've been to physio twice. both times they said they found no reason it was happening and could be unbalanced deltoid muscles. they just said work on my delts at the gym. wich i was doing and the problem went away. lately i have ost a lot of weight, including muscle so that might be a possible cause

having looked up loose ligaments that might well be it as my elbows / knees also hurt sometimes and bend more than i think they should.

Yes, it can be muscle instability.

But it can also be torn ligaments which make the shoulders pop out due to them not holding the ball and socket joint together.

here you go, read the info on this site,

              http://www.orthop.washington.edu/uw/...s/Default.aspx

and do the exercises. I know they look like "pu.ssy" type exercises, but they do work. Dont listen to any hard as.sses who tell you do bench and work on heavy shoulder exercises...

              hope that helps..

Also watch this, for some information about what you may have... the ball on the wall exercises is pretty good too.

thanks alot for the help. i will start with those exercises. will 3 times a day be enough? i was wondering if yoga would help too. ive heard its realy good but i dont know if it is a great idea with my ligaments if they are loose already. what do you think?

Don't want to be pessimistic here but I have similar problem but less problematic.
Despite that I'm going to have arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder.

The above exercises do help I do them 4-5times per week but since it is still possible for the shoulder to pop out I'm going to have a surgery.

Yoga has nothing to do with it so don't do it.
